News…

Well, I have been trying to figure out when and how to make this post.  The rumors are going around now and I guess it’s time to let it out. 

Eric has taken a new job that is moving us about an hour and a half away.  It is just far enough to where a commute just isn’t an option.  We are excited and nervous, but also sad to leave behind so many amazing friends.  The good thing though, is that we are still close enough to get together.  I will still be working in Jackson a lot so it’s all good.  :-)  I am VERY excited because I am a big city girl and I have struggled with living here.  The down side… I have a teenager who is not very happy about leaving his friends… especially his best friend.  I know that we will be sure to stay in contact with them though and pick them up to come stay the weekend with us… but it is still VERY hard for Logan.  I moved when I was his age – so I can relate to how he feels and that makes it even harder on me to make him do it.  He is an AMAZING young man with a heart of gold and the sweetest personality… I know he will fit in just fine there and make friends right away.  I think he is most nervous about just starting in a new school where he doesn’t know anyone and doesn’t know where anything is… I can understand that.  His new school is MUCH MUCH bigger than where he is now!

We went over this past week to look at houses.  We are very specific about the area we want to live in and apparently that is where EVERYBODY wants to live because there are very few homes for sale in that area.  We found 5 that we wanted to see… with 3 we pretty much knew we wouldn’t like but hated to just see 2.  LOL!  We were right on… the three were NOT what we wanted at all.  When we walked into one of them, I knew I had found our house!  It was PERFECT!  Eric took a little more convincing but it wasn’t long until he realized this house just had more to offer us.  I think the “man room” in the other office swayed him a bit. 

Anyway… we made an offer and after a slew of counter offers and negotiations… we had a deal! :-)  We own a new house and I LOVE it!!!  The kids haven’t even seen it yet.  It is nearly impossible to find a day where all five of us are in the same place at the same time to go over.  It is making me nuts!!!  I REALLY want them to see it but I am determined that we all go over together.  Another bonus… it’s about five minutes from my parents!  :-) 

The GREAT thing is we got a relocation package so they are coming to pack us, move us and unpack us into the new house.  We have had that with most of our corporate moves and it is great.  It will be especially great this time because I am so booked up with work and everyone is so busy that I don’t know when we would find time to pack ourselves.  I am really wanting to find time to clean out the attic and clean out a bunch of stuff I don’t want to move… but I can’t even find time for that!  

I am not sharing pics until we get moved in because I want it to be a surprise and I want you to see it as “our home” not someone else’s.  But I can’t make a post without a pic… and I am DYING to share it with you… so here’s a sneak peak at one little piece of the new house that just makes me very very happy…  FINALLY a double oven!!!! All my friends know how much I have been coveting one of these but our current kitchen just wasn’t made for one.  Oh the cupcakes that will come out of there!!!  ;-)
